While I am not a big corporatation with millions of dollars at my disposal, I try my best to assist with my community any way I can. Before selecting an organization to feature for my Third Eye Project, research is done to ensure a large percentage (at least 80%) of the charity's total expenses is spent on the programs and services it delivers. Below you will find past organizations featured for the Third Eye Project, organized from most recent to oldest. Project No. 02 - $400 Donated!

The Equal Justice Initiative: Committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States; challenging racial and economic injustice; and protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society. 100% of the profits from the "Solidarity Collection" was donated to the Equal Justice Initiative.

• Provides legal representation to people condemned to death
• Supports clients who are released after being incarcerated as children through their specialized re-entry program
• Exposes prosecutorial and police misconduct, challenges faulty forensic testimony, and advocates for better indigent defense
• Advocates for parole reform and challenges mandatory minimum sentences and habitual offender statues
• Investigates, documents, and exposes abusive and dangerous prison conditions in Alabama and works to improve conditions through litigation and advocacy
• Provides research and recommendations to assist advocates and policymakers in criminal justice reform.
• Publish reports, discussion guides, and other educational materials
• Staff conducts educational tours and presentations to students, teachers, faith leaders, professional associations, community groups, and international visitors

Project No. 01 - $485 Donated!

Center of Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) COVID-19 Response Fund: Focuses on support for nonprofit organizations working directly to respond to the pandemic among vulnerable populations including low-income households, small businesses, immigrants, refugees, Native Americans and Alaska Natives, older adults, people with disabilities, communities of color, and other communities vulnerable to the physical health, mental health and economic impacts of the pandemic. 50% of the profits from the "Asclepius Collection" was donated to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy COVID-19 Response Fund.

• 94.5% of the organization's total expenses is spent on the programs and services it delivers (source, 2020)
• Supporting healthcare and other frontline workers through provision and distribution of masks, gowns, gloves and other personal protective equipment (PPE) for essential staff, as well as deployment of emergency medical teams where needed
• Building the capacity of local food banks
• Supporting small business through emergency grants and mentoring programs
